Abstract
750,703. Sleeve couplings. AIRCRAFTMARINE PRODUCTS, Inc. Jan. 11, 1954 [Jan. 9, 1953], No. 744/54. Class 38 (1). A stainless steel jacket 30 encloses stainless steel gripping sleeves 32, 33 located at the end of the jacket and brazed thereto to retain loosely between them a copper sleeve 31. The sleeves 32, 33 have transverse serrations 34 with abrupt faces which face the centre of the connector. A cable stop 29 is formed at the centre of sleeve 31 by punching in the material of the sleeve between a pair of slits. Fig. 3 shows a pair of cables 22, 24 inserted in the connector and retained by pairs of semicircular crimps such as 42-1, 42-2 and 42-3, 42-4 which force the serrations 34 into the material of the cables. Crimps 52-1, 52-2 and 54-1, 54-2 form a highly conductive connection through sleeve 31.
