Abstract

Wool is dyed by treatment with a solution containing a chromable dyestuff, an alkali metal or ammonium dichromate and, as a reducing agent, sodium thiosulphate or hexamethylene tetramine. The solution may also contain a faintly acid salt such as ammonium sulphate or acetate and diluents such as common salt, Glauber's salt or dextrin.
