Abstract

The process for dyeing wool to produce an ingrain or melange or two-colour effect of Specifications 680,862 and 740,003 is modified in that the dyestuff employed is one which will dye wool and which contains one sulphonic acid group and at least one carboxyl group in the molecule or is a premetallized chrome dyestuff containing one sulphonic group in the complex and in that the aqueous solution at the beginning of the dyeing treatment has a pH below 4.4. Examples are given.
