Abstract

747,253. Refrigerators. JABLONSKY, B. Nov. 12, 1953 [Aug. 14, 1952], No. 20464/52. Class 29. A refrigerated container is provided in or on its walls with compartments 3 for containing solid carbondioxide and provided with shutters having controls, the shutters when opened putting the compartments into direct communication with the main part of the container. As shown in Fig. 1, each corner of the container has a compartment 3 defined by a wall 2 which has apertures 2a occluded by an apertured shutter 4 which can be moved to open position either by an external handle 5 or by thermal means responsive to the temperature in the container. The lid, Fig. 2 (not shown), may contain further compartments operating,in the same manner and adapted to be loaded from the outside with refrigerant through a subsidiary lid. The container may form part or all of the storage space of a land, air or sea vehicle. In a modified form, Fig. 3, a show case 28 having a glass front 29 is cooled by refrigerant compartments 32, the apertures in which are occluded by the showcase lid 33 when it is slid back.
