Abstract
745,361. Load coupling arrangements. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Sept. 22, 1953 [Oct. 22, 1952], No. 26551/52. Class 40 (7). A radio-frequency dielectric heating or like system comprises one or more sections of cable 2 between the source 1 of oscillations and the load 6, each of length greater than a quarter wavelength but less than a half wavelength, and one or more inductors 7 in series with the or each section of the cable so that a standing wave current anti-node is produced in each inductor 7 but not the cable and damage due to overheating avoided in the cable if having low melting-point insulation, e.g. polythene. The inductors 7 may be variably tapped, and one may be between the cable and load as shown, or at the input end of the cable.
