745,287. Display cartons. SHIRLEY & CO., Ltd., R. L. Nov. 25,1953 [Nov. 25, 1952], No. 29867/52. Class 3(2) [Also in Group XVII] One or more corners of a carton are cut to hinge back forming display stands. In one embodiment parts 1-6 of a tubular container hinge back at 7 with part 6 resting on the top wall 15. A separate display card 11 may be fitted. The hinged portion may be only partially severed as at 30 to necessitate opening by tearing. Two stands may fold up to lie back to back on the top wall (Fig. 5, not shown) or four corners may be cut individually for hinging as in Fig. 7. A flanged box lid may have similar display portions.
