Abstract

222,043. Jones, J. G. March 20, 1924. Contents, vicwing; lids.-In a box, carton, &c. for the transport or display of goods having a supplemented transparent cover in addition to the usual lid, the transparent supplemental cover 9 is hinged to the box at 5 and has a depending flange 8 around the sides not hinged, the flange enclosing the walls of the box and the lid 2 being hinged at 4 on the opposite side to the cover 9 at a point below the position occupied by the flanges of the latter when closed. Small pieces of cardboard may be secured to the rear wall of the box to grip the flanges 8 when the supplemental cover is closed. In a modification the wall of the box, to which the supplemented cover is hinged to the base so as to open out and facilitate access to the contents of the box or the side walls may be cut away to form finger openings.
