Abstract

831,335. Boxes. LEWIS, F. I. May 17, 1957 [June 15, 1956], No. 18624/56. Class 18. A box comprises a rectangular base A and a cover B having a top panel 16 hinged at opposite sides to a front panel 17 to a rear panel 18 engageable with the base and being foldable along a score line 20 to form a display panel extending upwardly from the base, the box being enclosed by a sleeve C. In the closed position, reduced portions 19 of the panels 17, 18 engage tightly between the sides of the base A and flanges 12 of a platform 10 which fits into the tray, the platform having a central cut-out 11 to accommodate an article; the outer sleeve C is then slid over the assembled structure. To form a display stand, the sleeve C is removed, the top panel 16 folded double along the score line 20 so that a portion 22 defined by cuts 21 projects upwardly, and the portion 19 of the panel 17 is engaged behind the rear flange 12.
