Abstract

744,597. Measuring torque. M.H.H. ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. June 15, 1953 [April 9, 1952], No. 9047/52. Class 106 (2). [Also in Group XXIII] In a torque indicating wrench comprising two relatively movable portions 5, 5a separated by a compression spring 6, the part 5 carries a ratchet-operated driving shaft 3, and the part 5a carries a recording mechanism 4 which is operated by non-positive connection with the part 5. The non-positive connection consists of a screw 10 mounted on the part 5 the screw making contact with a spring-loaded sliding rack 9 in the recording mechanism on load being applied to the wrench handle 2. The rack 9 gears with a pinion 11 which operates the pointer 12 of the indicator 13.
