Abstract

744,318. Feeding sheets &c. FAIREST, Ltd., M. April 12, 1954 [April 28, 1953], No. 11667/53. Class 100 (1). [Also in Group XV] Pile supports.-In a labelling machine (see Group XV) suction labelling heads moving continuously in a circular path successively withdraw labels from a stack 52 which is urged upwardly by a pressure plate 54 connected to a piston 55 in a cylinder 56 to which suction is applied at 57, the uppermost label being held by claws 58 ready to be removed. The stack 52 is carried by parallel links 59 from a sleeve 60 rotatable about a stationary sleeve 61 and cam and gear means cause the sleeve 60 and hence the label stack 52 and links 59 to oscillate horizontally over an arc of a circle. In addition a follower roller 83 on the links 59 engage a cam 82 to lift the outer ends of the links and bring the stack 52 upward into contact with a suction head whereupon after extraction of a label the cam 82 allows the stack to lower. The return oscillation of the stack 52 occurs at this lower level, ready for lifting a label to the next suction head. Specification 730,408, [Group XV], is referred to.
