Abstract
400,537. Labelling-machines. MAJER C., 8, Swarzlocherstrasse, Tubingen, Wurtemberg, Germany. May 1, 1933, No. 12629. Convention date, Jan. 19. [Class 73.] In a labelling-machine the labels are held in yieldably mounted vertical containers and the articles, previously pasted, are raised into contact with the lowermost labels. In the machine shown the containers are mounted on a turntable to which the articles are fed, a cam being provided to raise the articles into contact with the labels as the table rotates. Fig. 2 shows a development of the machine, the articles being pasted by a paster 49 and fed to members 39 which, as shown, are raised by the cam 43 to bring the articles 25 into contact with the labels. The label containers 2, Fig. 3, are mounted to slide, against spring pressure, in supports 7 and are laterally slotted to take projections on a follower 22. The projections are engaged by lugs 21a on endless chains 16 mounted on wheels 18, 19, 20 carried by the support 7. The shaft 27 for the wheels 19 is fitted with ratchet mechanism which is operated by the reciprocation of the holder, and moves the chain forwards as the pile diminishes.
