Abstract

576,212. Labelling - machines. DETREZ, R. March 28, 1940, No. 5573. [Class 73] In a labelling-machine in which a forked picker is reciprocated vertically in its own plane past an adhesive-applying roller to a position in which a label pile is moved into contact therewith to remove the top label, a supplementary plate .is provided for applying adhesive to the labels between the members of the picker. The picker 2 is gummed by a roller 5 and carries a further roller 6 which is gummed by the roller 5 and then applies the gum to the supplementary plate 9, which is reciprocated horizontally to apply gum to the central part of the outermost label of the pile 10 while the picker 2 gums its outer parts. The roller 6 is brought into contact with the roller 5 by a stop 8, and the plate 9 is actuated by a cam 14.
