Abstract
743,030. Magnetron amplifiers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. July 22, 1953 [July 24, 1952], No. 20362/53. Class 39 (1). [Also in Group XL (c)] A magnetron amplifier comprises a pair of cylin drical anodes 3, 4 spacec apart along a centra elongated cathode 2 anc a pair of end plates 5, 6 of annular or disc shape and of a diameter noi greater than that of the anodes. The end plates may be just inside the anodes. The input circuit is connected to the end plates and the output circuit to the anodes. For frequency multiplication the output circuit is tuned to an harmonic of the input frequency. In another embodiment in which the anodes and one end plate are supported on disc seals for coupling with coaxial transmission lines, the other end plate is supported on the cathode.
