Abstract
797,136. Discharge tube selective amplifying circuits. STANDARD ELECTRONICS CORPORATION. May 31, 1955, No. 15573/55. Class 40 (6). In a grounded grid amplifier, the input is applied over coaxial line 24, Fig. 5, to matching stubs 25, 27 with an intermediate section 10, the filaments and cathode or centre-tap of discharge tube L being maintained at the potential of the inner conductor of the line for R.F. potential while the filament leads 16, 16<SP>1</SP> pass through the hollow conductor. A plate 15 is rigidly mounted on bearing-blocks 14, Figs. 2 and 4, rotatable about the inner conductor 13. Plates 16, 16<SP>1</SP> are insulated from the plate 15 to form a capacitor element. Filament power is taken through the plates 16, 16<SP>1</SP> and flexible element 19 to connectors 18 while plate 15 is connected over a flexible strap 21 to a tap on the filament. The capacitor element and connectors are rotated about the connector 13 to facilitate removal of the discharge tube L. The tube is mounted in a structure of the type described in Specification 773,720, Fig. 1 (not shown).
