Abstract

742,543. Steam kettles. THACKRAY, Ltd., C. F. Feb. 11, 1954 [Feb. 12, 1953], No. 3923/53. Class 81(1). In a steam inhalant kettle having a hollow steam head element 8 projecting upwardly from the kettle top and having a branch outlet 10 to receive the usual outlet spout, the branch outlet is situated below the top of the head element, whereby the latter forms an antipriming device to prevent any creation of thermo-siphoning conditions capable of causing the discharge of hot water from the kettle. As shewn the steam head element which is of tubular form is mounted on a flanged steam outlet 7 provided on the dome shaped top of the kettle and the branch outlet 10 is situated intermediate the ends of the head. A tapered spout 13 is secured to the wall of the kettle in which a hole is provided and provides a filling means for the kettle such that the water level does not rise above the lip of the spout and a space is left between the water level and the steam outlet 7.
