742,425. Boots &c. SHERBROOK, V. A. Aug. 4, 1953, No. 21521/53. Class 17 (2). A shoe insole 10, having a fore part of reduced thickness and smaller than the last bottom which is to be used, has a sewing rib formed without channelling by the attachment of tapes. A tape 24 is folded longitudinally and secured by stitching 26 around the forepart from the heel breast line being inset from the edge of the insole at the shank area where two further separate doubled tapes 30 may be secured to the insole and stuck to the tape 24. A cover 34 is cemented to the other side of the insole and is brought over its edge to be cemented to the tapes to help to hold them upright. A layer of gem duck 36 may be applied to the rib side of the insole and is cemented to the inside of the tape 24.
