Abstract
742,000. Grease gun couplings. NEUMAN, C.J. Nov. 5, 1953 [Nov. 7, 1952], No. 28093/52. Class 99(1). A grease gun nozzle of the kind having an undercut U-shaped flange 10 adapted to have locking engagement with a nipple by a transverse sliding movement, is so arranged that it may be pushed or pulled on to the nipple. The nozzle opening, which is coaxial with the nozzle stem, has a spring-loaded seat 12 for the nipple, sealed by a cup-washer 15. The nozzle is pivotally mounted on a bifurcated end fitting 1 of the grease gun so that it can move to positions 90 degrees on each side of the aligned position shown. A passage 6 in the arm 3 of the fitting communicates through a gasket 18 with a transverse opening 7 of the nozzle which is pivoted on a screw 17 in the arm 2 of the fitting. The screw may be actuated to compress the gasket 18 and hold the nozzle at the desired adjustment.
