Abstract

740,635. Discharging receptacles by gaseous pressure. METAL BOX CO., Ltd. April 1, 1954 [April 10, 1953], No. 9863/53. Class 102(2). [Also in Group XXIX] Apparatus for dispensing liquids comprises a container 1 to which is attached a flexible container 5 fitted with a dispensing valve. The container 1 contains an amount of propellant 24, e.g. a mixture of halogenated compounds, which vaporizes and exerts a pressure on the flexible container 5 for the liquid to be dispensed. The flexible container 5 is secured to a member 7 of moulded nylon and a stem 10 is forced by a spring 9 to press the seat 18 against a washer 20. When the stem 10 is depressed, the seat 18 moves away from the washer and the conical surface 17 deforms the washer to expose openings in a reduced portion 19 which communicate with the passages 13 and 12. A small amount of propellant may be added to the liquid in the flexible container 5 to assist atomization.
