Abstract

1380738 Pressurized dispensing containers L'OREAL 6 March 1972 [8 April 1971] 10430/72 Heading F1R A dispenser valve is so designed that it may be used to dispense the contents of a single compartment container or be adapted to dispense from multiple compartment containers. The basic valve, shown in Fig.1, comprises a sleeve of elastic material 8 held at one end in a recess 4 and secured at the other end to a tube 7 open to a discharge duct 10 at one end and closed at the other, a lateral orifice being provided adjacent the one end of the sleeve. Pressure on button 9 distorts the sleeve 8 to expose the orifice to the interior of a container on which the valve is fitted. To adapt the valve, as shown in Fig.5, for discharging from multiple containers, cups 52a, b, c, each having secured therein a sleeve 54 and having an inlet 53, are secured together and to the boss 44. The tube 47 passes through each of the sleeves and is provided with a corresponding number of orifices 55. As shown the spacing of the lower ends of the sleeves and the orifices is such that simultaneous discharge from all the compartments takes place on operation of the valve. The spacing between the orifices and the lower ends of the sleeves may be selected Figs.7-10 (not shown) so that compartments discharge according to the depression of the tube; the button in this case can be rotatable and have abutments which co-operate with abutments on the cup 42 to limit the movement of the tube to a given position. The frictional fit of the sleeve 8 in the recess 4 may be selected so that the sleeve functions as a relief valve. The sleeve may be inserted in the recess after filling the container under pressure.
