739,021. Gauges. CAPP & SON, Ltd., A., and CAPP, D. July 20, 1954 [Aug. 26, 1953], No. 23558/53. Class 106 (2). A stand for a gauge 37 comprises a sliding carriage 12 mounted on a pillar 11 with slight lateral clearance so that the carriage may be tilted to produce fine adjustment of the gauge. The clearance is taken up by spring-pressed balls 20, 21 and when the carriage has been approximately positioned on the pillar, a screw 26 is operated to tilt the carriage against the influence of the upper spring. The carriage is finally secured by a screw 24.
