Abstract

638,186. Watch and like stands. BRYANS AEROQUIPMENT Ltd., MILLARD, W. A., and WILMSHURST, C. A. Feb. 10, 1948, No. 3868. [Class 52 (v)] A stand for holding instruments &c. comprises a block 2 secured to a base plate 1 and two side cheeks 8, 9 slidably mounted on the base plate. The block 2 acts as a bearing for a shaft 3 having an adjusting knob 5 and a pinion 4. Racks 6, 7 rigidly secured to the cheeks 8, 9 coact with the pinion 4. To lock the shaft 3 it is provided with an enlarged head 12 which is held by a screw 11 against a shoulder 13 of the bore. Washers 14 prevent withdrawal of the racks. V-shaped pads 10 support the instrument.
