757,513. Linear-dimension gauges. SIGMA INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd. Dec. 13, 1954 [Sept. 18, 1953], No. 25832/53. Class 106 (2). A mounting for a comparator comprises a movable plate 22, Fig. 2, supported on a sleeve 5 slidable on a pillar 4 by parallel lath springs 23, 24 and capable of fine adjustment relatively thereto by means of a screw 13, Fig. 1, bearing on an arm 8 whose upper end is fixed to a block 10 supported from a block 7 secured to the sleeve 5 by means of crossed lath springs 11 so that the arm 8 can pivot about their axis of intersection 12. The pivotal movement of the block 7 is translated into fine axial movement of the plate 22 by means of a vertical lath spring 20 secured at one end in a recess 19 in the block 10 and at the other end to a block 21 rigid with the plate 22.
