[Also in Groups XVII and XXX] In apparatus for feeding articles, e.g. sweets' to wrapping-machines of the kind described in Specification 699,364 in which the container 12 is filled by hand from a bulk supply, a movable feeler member 44 rests on the articles in the container and by its movement beyond predetermined limits actuates a micro-switch 46 which controls the operation of an auxiliary vibratory feeding device 42. Any article resting on another is deflected from the spiral path 39 back into the container 12 by a deflector 51.
