Abstract
737,885. Making composite sheets &c. UNITED STATES STEEL CORPORATION. July 21, 1952 [Feb. 13, 1952], No. 18391/52. Drawings to Specification. Class 83 (2). A duplex metal article comprises two layers of stainless steel bonded one to the other, one containing 16-30 per cent chromium and the other 10-14 per cent chromium; a further layer of the latter may be bonded to the other side of the first layer. The layer of higher chromium content may also contain Ni, Mo, Cu, Si, Mn, V, Ti, W or Se. The article may be formed by rolling together slabs of the steels heated to welding temperatures.
