Abstract
An article is formed by cold pressing a blank of austenitic steel containing Cr 12-20%, Ni 7-18%, C up to 0.3%, Si 0-2%, Mn 0-2%, Al 0-0.5%, uncombined Zr and/or B resulting from an addition of up to 0.1% B or up to 0.5% Zr or both, Fe the balance. The steel may also contain Mo 0-5%; Cu 0-5%, Ti 0-1%, Ta and/or Nb 0-2%, N not more than 0.02%. Ingots of the alloy may be forged, hot rolled at 1150 DEG C and annealed at 1090 DEG C. After pickling, the sheets were cold rolled, reannealed and pickled again.
