1305419 Steel alloys VEREINIGTE OSTERREICHISCHE EISEN-UND STAHLWERKE AB 13 May 1970 [11 Nov 1969] 23250/70 Heading C7A A clad body, such as a sheet, comprises a base of carbon-containing steel and a steel layer hot-rolled on to the base at a welding temperature and formed of an alloy containing nitrogen and/or boron with compounds of these elements precipitated on the grain boundaries. The steel layer may form an intermediate layer between the base body and a further cladding layer. The steel layer may have the composition C 0À001-0À07%, Si 0À5-2%, Mn 0À5-2%, P up to 0À03%, S up to 0À03%, Cr 16-30%, Al 0-0À06%, Ni 0-25%, Mo 0-6À5% with N 0À05-2% and/or B 0-1À5%, Fe and impurities the balance. The further cladding layer may have the composition C up to 0À03%, Si 0À3-2%, Mn 0À3-2%, P up to 0À025%, S up to 0À025%, Ni 8-25%, Mo 0-6À5%, Cr 12-30%, N up to 0À03%, Nb + Ta or Ti 8 times the C content, Fe balance, or C up to 0À07%, Si 0À3-2%, Mn 0À3-2%, P up to 0À025%, S up to 0À025%, Al 0-0À03%, Ni 0-1%, Cr 12-22%, N up to 0À03%, Fe balance. Reference is made to heat-treatment of a clad sheet at 940‹ C. for two hours followed by cooling in quiet air.
