737,155. Turbine and compressor rotors. SVENSKA TURBINFABRIKS AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROM. Nov. 11, 1953 [Nov. 18, 1952], No. 31260/53. Class 110 (3). [Also in Group XXIV] The rotor of an axial flow machine comprises discs 6, Fig. 1, having axially extending flanges 7, 8 arranged at different radii and held together by a central bolt. Alignment of the flanges 8 is achieved by the provision of flanges 10 and cylindrical pins 11 arranged in bores in the abutting faces to transmit turning movements. In Fig. 2, the flanges 8 are replaced by a separate annular member 18 with a flange at each end, and a separate annular member 17 is arranged between the flanges 7. The discs may diverge slightly from the centre so as to ensure close fitting when running due to centrifugal forces. Specification 662,302 is referred to.
