Abstract
736,297. Crank mechanism. APTE, G. V. Nov. 30, 1951, No. 28143/51, Class 80 (3). In a slider crank mechanism in which the connecting-rod to crank ratio is 1 to 1 the connecting-rod is extended beyond the crank-pin for balancing. As shown, in a two-cylinder engine with piston rods A at right-angles a double connecting-rod is provided formed by webs B, Ba, Bb, two crank-pins B<SP>1</SP> and two gudgeon pins B<SP>2</SP>. The cross-heads A<SP>1</SP> of the rods A are guided in guides G and extensions E on the connecting-rod webs B, Bb are provided as balancing weights. Balance weights may also be provided on the main cranks C.
