Abstract

Binding agents for lacquers, paints, putties, adhesive or plastic masses are modified by admixture with a smaller quantity of metal-containing synthetic resin as claimed in Specifications 718,283, 718,284 or 718,359. Binding agents mentioned are drying oils, and synthetic resins which may be oil-modified. In the examples: (1) a resin from aluminium butylate and acetoacetic ester is added to a linseed oil-modified alkyd resin; (2) a resin from aluminium butylate and diethyl malonate is added to a mineral oil extract known as "Polymerol condensate" (Registered Trade Mark); (3) a resin from aluminium butylate and acetoacetic ester is added to a castor oil-modified alkyd resin.
