Abstract
Tall oil is distilled in vacuum and the first fraction collected as long as the distillate contains an appreciable content of emulsifying substance, i.e., the distillate is capable of forming an emulsion with 10 times its weight of linseed oil and twice of water, which is stable for 24 hours. The distillate is used for impregnating fibre-board.
