Abstract

Waterproof plaster board is prepared by forming its core from plaster and bitumen or a bituminous emulsion, compressing to the desired thickness with one or more paper liners in place, drying the so formed board thereby bonding each liner to the core, and impregnating each liner with a second waterproofing agent. Paraffin wax is the preferred second waterproofing agent, 5 to 35 per cent. by weight, relative to the dry plaster, of bituminous emulsion is used.
