Abstract
734,064. Centrifugal casting-machines. BUNFORD, M. A. June 9, 1953 [June 12, 1952], No. 15894/53. Class 83 (1). Centrifugal casting apparatus comprises controlling means causing the flow of molten metal from a container through a passage into the mould cavity whilst producing a reduced pressure within said cavity. The mould 1, 2 is rotated by driving means 5-8, the shaft 3 being hollow. A manually actuated piston 19 provides, when raised, suction for introducing metal from the container 14 into the mould cavities 12. The pressure acting on the surface of the molten metal in the container may be controlled by means 15. In a modification the piston is automatically controlled by a centrifugal governor.
