779,165. Moulds. SAUTER, H., and HAHN, W., [trading as HAHN & KOLB]. Nov. 8, 1954 [Nov. 7, 1953], No. 32195/54. Class 83 (1). A mould for pressure die-casting is formed within a compression-resisting jacket, and the jacketed mould is introduced into a cavity in one die-part of a pressure die-casting machine. The ceramic mould 8 is formed in a steel jacket 3 with a perforated bottom 4, the wax or plastic pattern being melted or burnt out, and the mould baked. The jacketed mould is supported in a cavity in the die-part 2 of the machine, and its top surface is ground after baking so that the fixed die-part engages the die-part 2 closely. The inlet-channel 6 is framed by a metal sleeve 18 so as to prevent erosion of its edge.
