1,075,903. Moulding ceramic articles. VSESOJUZNY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATLESKY KONSTRUKTORSKY I TEKHNOLOGICHESKY INSTITUT GIDROMASHINOSTROENIA. Feb. 11, 1966, No. 6061/66. Heading B5A. A ceramic article, e.g. a pump rotor, is produced by placing shaped members 8, 9, e.g. of urea, soluble in water, in a mould 1-4, and then feeding ceramic material into the mould under pressure through an annular gap a to form a casting 7 which is withdrawn from the mould and placed in water to dissolve the shaped members. A metal member 5 is also placed in the mould to form threads 6 in the casting. After removal of the members 5, 8, 9 the casting is heat treated in a furnace.
