Abstract

977,808. Centrifugal casting - machines. COMBUSTION ENGINEERING Inc. Sept. 6, 1962 [Nov. 2, 1961], No. 34148/62. Heading B3F. A centrifugal mould lining comprises at least one spiral or a number of straight grooves 80 which cause the molten material being cast to be pumped into a circular orbit when the mould is rotated so that it moves along the length of the mould in a substantially solid front. Gas burners pre-heat the mould to a temperature of 400-500‹ F. during the casting process.
