Abstract
PURPOSE:To cast a thin walled casting surely and satisfactorily by teeming molten metal through the vent hole provided in a suitable position of a product cavity while sucking gases from the inside of the cavity. CONSTITUTION:A vent hole 10 is provided in the position furthest from the position of a sprue 5 in a product cavity 6. The inside of the cavity 6 is evacuated to a negative pressure state by a vacuum pump through the hole 10; at the same time, the air flow going toward the cavity 6 plus the hole 10 from the sprue 5 is produced. Thence in this state, prescribed molten metal is teemed from a ladle 11 into the sprue 5. Steam and gases are produced within the cavity 6 by the molten metal but since the inside of the cavity has been evecuated to the negative pressure state, the flow of the molten metal is not hampered, and nevertheless the run is assisted by the air flow toward the hole 10, whereby the molten metal is filled to all corners in the cavity 6.
