Abstract

733,764. Rotary drying apparatus. WETZEL, G. W., and MATTHEWES, K., [trading as MULLER & CO., D.]. Dec. 7, 1953 [Dec. 5, 1952; Sept. 5, 1953; Sept. 21, 1953], No. 34034/53. Class 34 (2). Apparatus for drying agricultural produce has a rotary drum 1 and a stationary element 8 extending axially within the drum and consisting of a pipe segment with a flat perforated wall 10 and a curved wall 9 over which element the material passes while heated air is passed through the wall 10. The drum 1 has agitator vanes 28 and the ends of the drum are closed by stationary walls 15, 15<SP>1</SP> supporting the member 8 and a discharge roller 14 which rotates in the same direction as the drum throws the material against the wall of the drum. Wall 15 has a feed aperture 26 and drying air leaves by way of flues 27.
