733,705. Domestic pottery vessels. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 2, 1953 [Jan. 7, 1952], No. 157/53. Class 66. [Also in Groups XIV and XXXV] A domestic pottery vessel 2 contains permanent magnetic material, e.g. magnets 3 and 4, for holding it on a ferromagnetic carrier 1, the main constituents of the vessel and the magnetic material being ceramic substances, preferably having substantially equal thermal coefficients of linear expansion. A glaze may be applied over the whole assembly. The magnetic material may be magnetized at right angles to the surface of the carrier and the retentivity of the magnetic material may be less than four times its coercivity. The magnetic material may be magnetized in opposite directions in at least two areas. Its main constituent may consist primarily of non-cubic crystals having the composition MO.6Fe 2 O 3 wherein M is at least one of the elements barium, strontium and lead. Some of the barium and/or strontium and/or lead may be replaced by calcium. Such magnetic material is described in Specification 708,127, [Group XXXV].
