Abstract
732,335. X-ray tubes. PHILIPS ELEC. TRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Nov. 27, 1953 [Dec. 1, 1952], No. 33000/53. Class 39 (1). The tungsten target 2 of an X-ray tube anode is a small plate which has two opposite sides 3, 4 bent at an angle and penetrating into the copper support 1, so that the whole plate, except for the target area, is embedded in the copper. The object is to preserve good thermal contact between the target and the support, and to further this end, a plug 5 of tungsten wool may be sealed directly behind the target.
