732,173. Centrifugal casting- machines. BUDERUS'SCHE EISEINWERKE. April 16, 1953 [April 17, 1952], No. 10449/53. Class 83 (1). A horizontal centrifugal casting- machine comprises a mould displaceable by a piston 7 and cylinder 4 operating under the action of a compressed medium, the free end of the piston rod being connected to the mould carrier 1 by means 14 which are resilient in the direction of travel of the mould. The mould housing 1 is mounted on a track 3 by rollers 2. The housing is traversed by a fluidpressure piston 7 having a cross-head 12 supported by rollers 19. A lug 8 on the housing is connected to the piston between the head 12 and a spring-pressed plate 13. The spring 14 acts as a buffer when a plate 22 contacts the machine base 21. The lug 8 is tapered and an undersize collar 16 is carried on the piston-rod to facilitate the attachment of the housing to the rod. The compression of the spring is adjusted by nuts 15.
