Abstract

754,760. Road sweeper. GEESINK N.V. May 3, 1954 [June 10, 1953], No. 12808/54. Class 107. A sweeping machine has a horizontal sweeping brush 6 in addition to the rear brush 5. The brush 6 is upwardly tippable to a vertical position about an axis 12 at right angles to the brush axis and is suspended by means of spring cylinders connected to arms 17, 19. The arms 17 are engaged by a cable 27 connected to a piston rod 29, Fig. 4, of a. spring cylinder 30. The arms 19 on tube 20 are connected to a second identical spring cylinder 33 through a lever 31 and cable 32. The cylinder 30 has an entry 34 for pressure fluid which moves the piston 35 to the right against spring 37 and allows the brush to fall under its own weight. A second spring 39 controls the sweeping pressure, and is adjusted by the nut 41.
