Abstract

730,635. Centrifugal-machines. ECREMEUSES MELOTTE SOC. ANON. Oct. 12, 1950 [Oct. 13, 1949], No. 24960/50. Class 23. In a mixing machine a mixture of two or more components one of which is a liquid is discharged from a rotary member 1 as a thin sheet or a series of jets to impinge on a series of impact surfaces 21 which are substantially perpendicular to the trajectory of the sheet or jets. The components are fed into an opening 2 at the top of the member, vanes 19 being provided to rotate the components at the speed of the member and to suck in air or gas. The components form a thin film on the interior surface of the member and discharge as a sheet on to the impact surfaces from whence the resultant mixture falls to an outlet 31. Side members 22, 24 and a cover 30 are provided to prevent splashing of the mixture from the impact surfaces. The mixing machine may be used in the process described in Specification 730,632.
