832.526. Flotation apparatus. METALURSKI INSTITUT PRI TEHNISKI FAKULTETI UNIVERZE V. LJUBLJANI. Sept. 27, 1956, No. 29534/56. Class 82(2) A hollow stirrer for a flotation cell has at least one internal fluid duct connected with the shaft and at least one further duct for sludge to be sucked into the stirrer, the outlets of each duct being disposed on separate surfaces parallel to the axis of rotation of the stirrer and at an acute angle to the tangent to the path swept by the leading edges of the surfaces, the leading edge being the furtherest part of the surface from the axis. The air ducts are shown at 3 and are arranged to terminate on alternate surfaces 7 of the stirrer with sludge ducts 9 arranged on surfaces 11. A stirrer with two vertically spaced impellers is disclosed. A plug 12 or other valve means controls the quantity of air fed down the shaft.
