Apparatus for granulating material e.g. fertilisers to which wetting agents may be added, comprising an inclined rotary granulating plate 1 having a rim flange 2 is provided with a discharge device in the form of a spring- influenced pivotally-mounted channel member 4 which is mounted on cross slides 7, 8 so as to be horizontally displaceable over the plate 1. The member 4 may be vibrated by means 9 or by an eccentric drive mechanism. The bottom surface of the channel member may be heated or hot air or gas may be blown through slots in a double bottom 10. In modifications, the edges of the channel member diverge from the upper to the lower end thereof and the upper end of the channel member is arranged as a separate inlet member adjustable on pivots connecting it to the remainder of the channel member.
