[Also in Groups I and VI] A centrifugal machine for throwing liquid against an impact surface in the separation of solid particles flocculated or capable of flocculation suspended in the liquid (see Groups I and V) comprises a distributing member 4. rigid with the cylinder 1 supported and rotated by a member 7, the cylinder being provided with a stabilizing ring 1<SP>1</SP>. The liquid and solid mixture fed to the distributer runs down the inner wall of the cylinder to pass out of the lower end in the form of a flat film 8 projected against the impact-surface 3. Alternatively the lower end of the cylinder may be closed and peripheral ports provided in the cylinder to produce fine jets. The wall 3 is provided with a cover 9 in which the liquid collects to be led away through an opening S to a settling tank. Specification 617,557 is referred to.
