730,590. Carburetting water gas. HEURTEY & CIE. July 1, 1952 [Jan. 8, 1952], No. 16508/52. Classes 55 (1) and 55 (2). Water gas is enriched by the return to the upper part of the producer, which is occupied by coke partly fed in and not subjected to the heat of carbonization, of oily products obtained by the purification of the gas itself. Water gas plant comprises a generator 1 with a blast duct 6 and blower 7, a water jacket 10 with a valved steam pipe 11 opening into duct 6 and outlet ducts 14, 15, leading the blast and make gases respectively to a boiler furnace 18 and purifying plant 21, e.g. as described in Specification 677,818. In the form shown the different oily condensates are collected in a common pipe 25 for return by a pump 24 to the top of the generator to feed spray nozzles 28. Products from other gas purifying plants or other liquid fuels may be mixed with the condensates.
