Abstract
729,343. Printing surfaces. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.- GES. Oct. 24, 1952 [Oct. 26, 1951], No. 26775/52. Class 100 (2). ' A clamping device for flexible printing plates 2 is characterised in that for the adjacent opposed plate ends there are provided two clamping bars 3, 4 located in an axially directed slot in the plate cylinder 1, secured at their outer ends to opposed plate ends, and supported in a manner which provides for relative tilting thereof, and pressure bars 6, 6<SP>1</SP> are provided inside the cylinder 1 to effect the tilting. The pressure bars are guided by inclined surfaces 7, 8 and comprise extensions which extend laterally from the cylinder 1 and in which screws 11, 12 are supported so as to bear against abutments 13, 14. The abutments 13, 14 are secured to the ends of the plate cylinder. Tightening of the screws 11, 12, e.g. by a square spanner, urges pressure surfaces 5 of the pressure bars 6, 61 bearing against the clamping bars 3, 4 together so that the bars 3, 4 tilt about projections 17, 18 on the bottom ends of the bars. Springs 19 are provided for releasing the pressure bars when the screws 11, 12 are loosened. Specification 635,628 is referred to.
