Abstract
476,668. Printing-machines. WAITE & SAVILLE, Ltd., and WHYTE, F. E. March 9, 1936, No. 6978. [Class 100 (ii)] In a printing-machine of the kind using engraved plates or dies, the dies are fixed in a carrier which is detachable from the machine. The carrier 2 has vertical flanges 2a through which pass screws 4 for clamping the dies 3. Interposed members 5 may be used for securing a die 3a at an angle to the die 3. For securing the carrier 2 to a carriage 6 which, as shown, is of the form described in Specification 14749 /99, [Class 101], a central projection 8 on the carrier enters a cylindrical opening in the carriage 6 and is gripped by a screw 9. In addition, a pin 10 engages adjacent holes in the carrier and carriage. In a modified construction for holding dies of larger area, the carrier 2 is secured to the carriage 6 by means of bolts engaging holes at one side of the carrier and slots at the other side. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 17233/93 and 14749/99, [both in Class 101].
