Abstract
726,513. Electrostatic filters. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Sept. 29, 1953 [Oct. 1, 1952], No. 26688/53. Class 39 (1). An electrostatic precipitator cell has opposite side walls 10 of insulating material, and the other side walls 11 of metal and having portions 12 bent over against the insulating walls; tie-rods 18 extending through the insulating walls support the high voltage collector plates, while tie-rods 13 extending through the insulating walls and the bent over portions 12 of the metal walls support the grounded collector plates. Each set of collector plates has clearance openings for the tie rods supporting the other set. A wire 23 threaded through slits formed in the ends of the insulating walls forms a series of ionizing electrodes. A perforated metal baffle plate 27 forming the non- discharging electrode for the ionizer, is slidably supported by flanges 25 on. the metal walls, over the front of the precipitator cell.
