Abstract

789,360. Electrostatic precipitation. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. April 27, 1956 [May 4,1955], No. 12974/56. Class 39(1). An electrostatic precipitator cells has the preliminary ionizer wires supported at their ends by resilient V-shaped brackets 46 which are bowed over spacers 37 on the lower tie-rods 34. The non-discharging electrodes of the ionizer are plate extensions 33A. One set of tie rods are supported directly by end plates 30A, the other set by insulators 40 which are attached to bent out portions 39 of the end plates. Each set of tie-rods consists of three at the corners of an equilateral triangle. Cabinet 10 also contains a fan 17, transformer 22 and selenium rectifiers 54, 57 in series. Rectifier 57 is connected to the cell through a spring contact 60. Specification 475,443 [Group XL] is referred to.
